The team is currently in Calhan. They walked south to Colorado Springs from Denver, now they're walking back to Denver to pick up Hwy 70 again.
Last night they were scheduled to stay at someone's house but were unable to reach them by phone. When they stopped at a tack shop to pick up items for the animals, Flip said a farrier was there who shoed Mercy for free just because he too is a believer. A lady who belongs to a cowboy church came into the tack shop. She invited them all to a Bible study which they happily attended. They were then invited to stay the night and use all the facilities. Aaahh hot showers!
Flip said at 5:30 this morning he witnessed one of the most beautiful moments God has granted him. He saw the beautiful, glorious full moon set gently over Pikes Peak .
He's been musing again (or still) on what they learned at Colorado Springs. He said, "There are over 60 major ministries in Colorado Springs. These ministries are literally bringing Christ to the world." He said, "It's like parents who minister to others but lose their own children." He said, "The world can't help but know that the church doesn't care much about abortion." The Harrisons, who were mentioned in a previous report as valiantly standing for the unborn at the Colorado Springs abortion mill, are a couple in their 80's. Mike Gamble is the only other stalwart defender.
Flip said he's learned that Mick Hinson, pastor of a homosexual MCC church in Charlotte, NC, decided to go to the courthouse to get a marriage license for he and his homosexual partner. "He knew he would be denied the license, but he's going to use the court system to say marriage between same gender couples should be applied," Flip said. "How is it," Flip asked, "that this fellow who dissed his marriage, who carried on an adulterous relationship with another man and trashed his wife, how is it that he even cares about having a marriage license?"
