Walk Across America (WAA)
March 16, 2004 Report
By Brenda Spurlock

Flip and the WAA team have just come from proclaiming the love of Jesus to the citizens of Palm Springs. Palm Springs, they learned, is a homosexual enclave. When they stopped at the visitor center, the Visitors Guide had four pages of places of interest for sodomites listed.

The team passed through the center of town with the broken Ten Commandments, followed by Curtis Finison blowing the shofar, then the dead baby. Judgment and Mercy followed. Homosexuals understood instantly that Christ had come to town. They were enraged.

As the team walked past outdoor cafes, they called to the sodomites eating there to warn them that they won't find the love of God in the arms of another man. Pastor Rusty preached his heart out as the homosexuals screamed at them, spitting food and cursing. Flip said they were surrounded by so many wicked and lost that they knew they were exactly where the Lord intended for them to be.

They met and spoke with Christians along the way, but these Christians had kowtowed to the wicked. One Christian woman lived on a street fully occupied by sodomites. She begged the WAA team not to say anything about the sin of homosexuality. Flip compared these Christians to the people who entreated Christ to leave their region after He had freed the Gadarenes demoniac. He said, "They wanted us out of their city!"

Young Shekinah Thomas cried as she watched homosexuals kiss - trading spit, posturing and expending great effort to provoke these Christians who had come to town.

Sodomites called 911 and the police came. Our team spent a solid hour answering questions as police worked to verify they were who they claimed to be and to verify where they lived. Police accused them of making racial slurs and of committing a hate crime. They responded, "No, it's the Bible!" Flip said, "Everybody, no matter how perverse, is out of the closet now, but when Christians come out of the closet we are instantly regarded as lawbreakers."

He said the situation reminded him of when Pilate asked the people who to release, Barabbas or Jesus, and they called for Barabbas. Then Pilate asked them, "Well then what shall I do with this Jesus?" and the crowd screamed, "Crucify him, crucify him!" He said, "There wouldn't be any problems with homosexuality, abortion, or Islam, if it weren't for Jesus."

The truth has been proclaimed and the citizens of Palm Springs, CA have been lovingly warned that they cannot parade their sin like Sodom forever. Christians have pled with them to turn to Christ while there is yet time to receive His mercy.

The team is getting ready now to cross the Mojave Desert headed toward Nevada.
