Saints Assemble at Rochester Killing Center February 27, 2001 Please keep the following requests in prayer:
Please keep abortionist Morris Wortman and his wife Rebecca in your prayers. Recently Rescue Rochester began to help a group of sidewalk counselors that has been active at this clinic for over 12 years. We stand with the counselors and offer prayer coverage and are attempting to recruit more area Christians to begin to stand in the gap at this clinic. Over the past two weeks there were three more turn aways at this clinic. One couple was so intent on leaving that they drove their car on the grass and through the snow banks of a nearby office complex to turn aound and leave the vicinity of the abortion clinic. Since the beginning of the year there has been a decline in the number of abortions performed on Saturdays and during our Roe v. Wade Memorial gathering the clinic closed! A few weeks ago we began to place a small cross laced with a pink and blue ribbon in the snow for every baby killed during that Saturday's shift. We intended it to be a cross of remembrance. Little did we know that a small one foot cross would be such a threat. Abortionist Wortman became insensed that the crosses were lining his sidewalk on arecent Saturday. He ran over to one of the counselors and told her '"Remove it!", She was dumbfounded and didn't know what he was saying or talking about. "MARY REMOVE IT!", He spit out. She asked, "What?, Remove What?!" "You know what I mean", he said, "REMOVE THE CROSS!" I Corith.1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." On another front, we have found out that theThe Genesee Hospital which houses two abortion clinics continues to lose gobs of money and may be forced to close. It was recently reported in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that the hospital has lost money the last three years. The story reported the hospital needs to cut 83 million dollars from its budget of 583 million. "I don't think it's in danger of closing, and we will make sure we will do everything we can do to keep it from closing." said Thomas Litz CEO. I hope that means repenting and removing all the killing centers from this hospital! Mike Warren December 19, 2000 Saturday dawned warmer than the usual temperatures seen in Rochester this past week. Dutifully 5 saints assembled at Morris Eortman's killing center to speak to the on average 15-20 moms scheduled for abortions on the typical Saturday. Rescue Rochester joined with a group of sidewalk counselors some of them active at this mill for the past 12 years. The staff began to arrive shortly before 7:00 AM with the abortionist driving into his inside garage spot around 8:00 AM. The staff was more somber than usual. Maybe killing so close to Christmas when we celebrate the birth of the Savior had begun to weigh on their conscience. We appealed to their consciences to quit and prayed waiting for the first clients to appear. And they did but what happened this Saturday was markedly different. A girlfriend and driver hesitated to get out of their car as the counselors called out. They then left with the mother quiet and her friend the driver overjoyed. She had decided to keep her baby. Shortly thereafter another couple went into the clinic then quickly left. Another probable change of heart. These people listened as we called to them looked at Malachi and the other signs and God stirred their souls. Another couple drove into the parking lot and then drove out. These two gave no outward sign of their intentions but we believe from their countenances that they were a probable change of heart . But most moving was my time with a father walking his now post-abortive girlfriend out of the clinic. I called out asking him to get her help and take some literature. He nodded his head but then upon exiting the driveway pulled over and reached across his girlfriend to take a literature pack and then sped away. There has been a marked difference in the atmosphere these passed two weeks. Please keep praying for the couples who changed their minds and mourn with us for the other 13 children who died. During this shift the abortionist's wife who is his office manager ran out of the clinic through the snow with no boots or coat on to complain to a nearby policeman that our signs should be taken down. We took this as great encouragement that the outreaches were working. The policeman who was watching did not make us remove the signs. Mike Warren
