 The Word in Warfare

Team LEADER Checklist

Your name: ________________ Your Team Number: ___

Introduction:
Congratulations! You have been selected to lead a dynamic group of warriors into a most powerful and scriptural based tactic of strategic level spiritual warfare. If we can assist you further in any way, please don't hesitate to contact us. Be strong and very courageous!

Pastor Chet Gallagher
chet@evangel.org

Please take the time to become very familiar with all of the instructions provided.

· With this leader's packet you also have received:

  • A Map
  • 1-3 sets of "Word in Warfare Team Member Instructions" (for Bible Readers on your team) As soon as your first team member begins reading their chapter give this form to other team members to read to themselves.
  • Pens and a Pad for People to write what God is speaking to them
  • A Blank Sheet of paper to record the actual reading time for EACH CHAPTER, return this and any other material in your envelope.
  • Some Small tracts of key bible verses to give to passersby.
  • Tracts that explain why we are reading the Bible "Out Loud" today.
  • The sign placards "We are reading from the book of…" that were assigned to your team. Someone is always holding this sign when not reading.

· IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you yourself are familiar with your own, as well as your team members, instructions. This is about leading a spiritual army into spiritual warfare. Think of these as your written orders for battle.

· Be sure someone from your team has brought water for team members to drink.

· If not you must get these from your Site Captain.

· Select a spiritually mature assistant to cover for you if you are distracted, and to assist you with difficult situations or persons.

· Someone in your team should be assigned a cell phone if possible for emergencies. This is your primary communications person. Keep them close by.

· Report to your Site Captain immediately upon arrival. Generally Site Captains oversee 4-5 teams or a specific site if there is more than one venue or teams are spread over a larger area. At this event there are 4 Site Captains.

· Handling Distractions and/or Hecklers:

  • Hecklers are less common than other forms of distraction but they can appear from time to time. This is especially true at Pro-Life events. Use your best skills to deal with them. ABOVE all under no circumstances let the reading of the Word be stopped by interruptions, hecklers or hindrances.
  • If the problem cannot be resolved allow your On-Site Captain or the on-site pastor to intervene.

· Monitor the reading pace. We try to read at approximately 8-10 verses per minute.

· You will set up your team on site by coordinating with other team leaders as follows:

  • Teams are small groups of no less than 3 or more adult readers, usually seated in the folding chairs or use existing benches. Be sure chairs do not block sidewalks nor passers-by No Building is to be obstructed. Monitor this closely.
  • Keep everyone on PUBLIC property only. Do not risk arrest by going onto private property. Contact your Site captain with questions.
  • Teams read the books assigned to them with only one person reading aloud one chapter at a time and rotating to the person on their immediate right.
  • Teams should be spaced several feet apart so that the reading of one team is not affected or hindered by another team too close.
  • Be strategic in your setup. Try to place teams where they can be seen and heard by people passing by. We want to provoke and instill faith in all hearers of the Word!
  • The On-Site Captains will supervise teams in the park and around the perimeter.
  • Team leaders must assign someone to pass out the "Word in Warfare" tracts and/or bible book explanations (summaries/outlines) Ten Commandments, etc. if available. This duty can be rotated with members reading chapters.
  • Try to recruit a Spanish-speaking team member. Use them to speak to Hispanic passers by as needed.
  • Also have fluent, non-English readers, read from their foreign language bible.

· Do not hesitate to witness but do not let ANY conversations hinder the reading of the Word. The reading MUST NOT stop.
