Praying for our Troops

Praying for our Troops

Below is an email from Mike Link in NY to a young lady named Bren. We thought it was an excellent response to why we must go to war. God bless you Mike. We pray for these friends as well.

I just checked and, unfortunately I no longer have Bren's letter on my computer. She just basically said she would pray for my friend who was called up with the reserves and asked that I pray for her friend in the same situation, but that she really felt this war was not in God's will. She asked if I thought it was and, thus my response. I haven't heard from her since, by the way. But I feel blessed to be presenting the truth almost as boldly as Brother Flip. God bless your ministry.

In Christ's love,

Mike

Here is Mike's response:

Hi Bren,

Thanks for writing back and for your prayers for Vernon. I will pray for Mark. War is horrible and in a perfect world, it should be avoided at all costs. But in the cursed world we live in while we wait to meet Jesus, I believe He has given us the power to remove evil when it shows its head. Saddam Hussein is evil and needs to be removed before thousands of innocent Americans again perish because of the inferiority complex or ego of a ruthless madman.

Just as Moses would not give an inch to Pharaoh (even refusing Pharaoh's seemingly minor request of leaving behind the livestock when they go - "...not a hoof is to be left behind." Exodus 10:26), we cannot give this madman a second to carry out his desires. President Bush (who I believe to be our brother in Christ, but a young Christian) is probably bombarded with messages like "Mr. President, why did you not take care of Bin laden BEFORE September 11?" Having learned that painful lesson, he is now determined to remove the danger before more innocent people die.

Remember that Neville Chamberlain was ready to hand most of Britain over to Hitler to avoid a war before Winston Churchill replaced him and took what I believe to be the godly stand....he said "no" to evil. He told Hitler that he will not surrender the people of England to a madman who was heartlessly murdering God's people Israel and others, without a fight. I believe God blessed The UK, the USA, and the other allies who determined to end this evil man and his evil work. I believe He will do so again in this case.

Let me know what you think, Bren. I know that I can count on your prayers for the soldiers who serve us either way, Bless you for that.

In Christ's love,

Michael
