Prayer at the Federal CourthouseMonday, August 23, 1999 An impromptu prayer meeting, attended by Dave Mehaffie and his wife Kim, was held in front of the Federal Courthouse after Judge Walter Rice postponed the trial. Dave Mehaffie from Dayton, and Heather Mechanic from San Diego, who are both defendants in the trial, were interviewed by the media. The group prayed for Judge Rice and for the unborn children that would be affected by Judge Rice's decisions. The trial was postponed so that Judge Rice could decide whether he wanted to make a summary judgement. A summary judgement would take the place of a trial.
