March 16, 1999 Prolife Saint Found GuiltyOn Tuesday, March 16th, 1999, Judge Clare Fiorenza found James Chinavare guilty on all seven counts of criminal contempt. Chinavare was charged in 1997 with 8 counts of criminal contempt. One charge was later dropped. The injunction that he was charged under hadn't been used against anyone for two and a half years when he was charged, nor had people been obeying the injunction for that two and a half years. The injunction prohibited pro-lifers from coming within 25 feet of the abortion clinic entrance. The State's key evidence was a video which showed Chinavare walking on a public sidewalk offering baby clothes and other help to mom's entering the abortion clinic. He is often seen in the video saying, "If you need help for your baby, we can help you." One clip shows him talking to abortion clinic workers saying, "If you or any of your friends have ever had an abortion, please know that Jesus can forgive you." Pro-lifers, who had packed the courtroom, expressed grief and disgust over the sentencing. Some wept and prayed in the hallway outside the courtroom after the proceedings had ended. Nine sheriff's deputies were present at the sentencing, as though they needed to be concerned about the families and elderly folk that filled the courtroom. The case was brought by Wisconsin Attorney General James Doyle, who in 1993 received an award from Planned Parenthood for his pro-choice efforts. The charges against Chinavare stemmed from his activities outside a Milwaukee Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. Sentencing is set for March 26th at 1:30 p.m. James is facing 7 years in prison and a $35,000 fine. People are encouraged to write the judge at
March 15, 1999 A Message From Mark GabrielDear friends, My brother in the Lord and fellow missionary to the preborn, James Chinavare, goes to trial tomorrow morning (3/15/99) in Milwaukee. Please pray immediately for him. You can help him also by speaking on his behalf to the authorities listed below, in a polite, but firm way. Brother Dennis Duehning, who ministers for the Lord at abortion mills in the Chicago area, wrote the following account that clearly explains the situation, and how you can help James: On May 9, 1997 James Chinavare, a devoted family man with three young children, was served notice by a Special Agent from the Wisconsin Department of Justice that he is being charged with eight counts of violating an injunction. Chinavare sidewalk counsels on a public sidewalk outside the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic near downtown Milwaukee. For this, Wisconsin State Attorney General James Doyle wants to imprison him for seven years. In 1992, Doyle obtained an injunction against 36 pro-life individuals, including Chinavare, which ordered them to stay 25 feet away from the entrance of Milwaukee abortion clinics. This injunction was obtained when huge demonstrations were being conducted at abortion clinics in Milwaukee. The big demonstrations stopped and since 1994 this injunction had not been enforced. Chinavare had been going within the restricted zone to pass out literature and share the Word of God with abortion bound mothers and fathers. Then suddenly after two and one half years Doyle decided to charge Chinavare. Since January of 1997 the proponents of the culture of death have videotaped him violating the injunction 7 times and have accumulated these episodes into 7 charges each of which carry a one year sentence. Hence, Chinavare is looking at a possible 7 year sentence and a $40,000 fine. This is a case of censorship. Pro abortion forces are using an old injunction to keep Chinavare and his pro life literature away from women who are about to make a terrible mistake. Every woman who decides to spare her baby costs the abortionist hundreds of dollars in lost income. Chinavare and his wife, Carolyn, have had moms, who spare their babies, over to their home for dinner and Bible studies. Now Chinavare needs your help! (1) Phone or write Attorney General James Doyle, P.O. Box 7857, Madison, WI 53707-7857 phone: (608) 266-1221 Fax: (608) 267-2779 Ask Doyle, "Why do you want to imprison Chinavare for 7 years?" (2) Phone or write Judge Clare Fiorenza, Milwaukee County Courthouse, Branch 3, 901 N. 9th Street, Room 502, Milwaukee, WI 53233 Phone: (414) 278-4486 Fax: (414) 223-1252 The Judicial system in Milwaukee has a double standard. If you are politically incorrect, you get the book thrown at you. If you are politically correct, the system is very lenient. In 1992, Queer Nation splattered red paint on the white City Municipal Building in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When police arrived, they wrestled with the police. they were given a $110.00 ticket. In 1993, alderman Michael McGee helped turn over a Milwaukee Police Department squad car at a demonstration. He was given two weeks in jail. In 1997, James Chinavare passed out literature and talked to abortion bound women on a public sidewalk outside of an abortion clinic in Milwaukee. He faces a possible 7 years sentence.
