Press Release - How Long Will You Waver Between Two Opinions, America?

How Long Will You Waver Between Two Opinions, America?

"If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him." (1 Kings 18:21). This was the choice the prophet Elijah laid before the nation Israel to get her off her pluralistic center. Embryonic stem cell research brought America face to face with that same decision last night, and she chose to serve Baal!

The President of the United States of America, at his pragmatic, bipartisan best, spoke to our nation last night concerning embryonic stem cell research. All heaven awaited his response! As far as the Bible was concerned it was a simple decision to make. He must stand for the sanctity of life, not only in word, but also in deed. His words were right, but his actions betrayed the words of his mouth. "The federal government," he said, "would fund research on the 60 stem cell lines already existing but no more." Hopefully this would pacify both pro-life and pro-death groups. What he failed to realize is that there is no "common ground" between these two. One serves God, the author of life; the other serves Baal, the author of child sacrifice.

Though the wording was clever and the spin intricate, the leader of our nation chose last night to betray the lives of children and the Word of God. More than any Presidential decision in the past 56 years, this one carries with it huge moral and spiritual implications.

"This has always been our problem with 'Pro-life Republicans'." Said Rev. Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Rescue. "They say the right things, yet always give in when it comes to standing upon God's Word. They are professing Christians yet functional atheists. Instead of bringing our nation to repentance over the killing of children (frozen embryos) and issuing an Executive Order to stop all (private as well as government funded) embryonic stem cell research, the President chose the politically expedient track. He looked for 'common ground'. He tried to 'reach across the aisle' and have it both ways. How foolish of him!"
