Are We Standing in the Gap?

Are We Standing in the Gap?
A Quote from Jerry Crawford in Rochester, NY

"The worst of churches reject absolutes and teach a social gospel where we all just do the best we can to love somebody. Morality, if any, is based on situational ethics. These churches accept abortion as a social necessity, welcome homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle, and deny the existence of Hell. These churches, while abhorrent, are not the main cause of the decadent society we live in.

The best of Churches proclaim the truth of the gospel, believe and teach in absolute standards of righteousness and sin, and call for sinners (all of us) to repent and be Born Again." They have vibrant worship services, praising the living God. They have midweek services, teach Sunday School and even send Missionaries to bring the Gospel to the heathen nations. BUT, sadly, they rarely preach an effective message about the killing of the unborn by abortion, will not lead intercessors, prayers or counselors to the site of the killing, and refuse to accept any responsibility for the state of our nation (regarding the killing of over 40 million unborn babies in this country).

Even so - while they, our shepherds, will have to someday answer for themselves, it does not let us off the hook. When we stand in judgment, God will not ask if we followed the pastor, He will ask what we did with the anointing He gave us to proclaim truth and stand in the gap.
