Tuesday morning Operation Save America split into groups to visit three abortion mills throughout the city. Our group went to Planned Parenthood. At 11:00a.m. we all came together at the United Way organization. Coach Dave Daubenmire, of Minutemen United told us that in the spring of 2004, the United Way of Franklin County in central Ohio made the decision to de-fund the Boy Scouts. They claim the Boy Scouts are discriminatory for not accepting homosexual scoutmasters. They decided this even though the US Supreme Court said the Boy Scouts, as a private organization, has a right to limit their membership. Approximately 70% of the American people agree with the Boy Scouts. In addition, he said, United Way no longer allows contributors to choose the charity they want their money to go to. "They’re going to determine it for you," Coach Daubenmire said.
"Many people in Franklin County feel like their money is being extorted. United Way gives our money to AIDS Taskforce, Planned Parenthood and other organizations that we believe are against Christian values. If they are pro-choice why won’t they be pro-choice on this issue and let us choose which charity we want to support and why are they being so bigoted against the Boy Scouts,"he asked.
Coach said organizations that support the United Way in de-funding the Boy Scouts include:
The NAACP, ACLU, Anti Defamation League, Human Rights Campaign, National Asian Pacific Legal Consortium, People for the American Way, National Organization for Women, The Association of School Administrators, the NEA (they would rather your kids be tolerant than morally upright), People for the American Way, New York Board of Education, Los Angeles Unified School District, American Jewish Congress, The General Board of Churches United, The United Church Board for Homeland Ministries, American Federation of Teachers, United Methodist Church, Association for Social Workers (no wonder we have so many social problems in this country).
Coach Daubenmire said, "Their feeding at the trough of the hardworking citizens. It’s not United Way’s responsibility to clothe the naked and feed the hungry, it’s the Church’s. The United Way and the government have become Jehovah Jirah (God provides).
When we went for lunch today at Battelle Riverfront Park , Ms. Cleola came up and introduced herself to Pastor Flip Benham. She said she had seen our group outside World Harvest Church on Sunday and that she was driving by today and saw our large sign display at City Hall.
She said: "By the time I got to that last baby I was crying like a baby. Then I saw you gathered out here and I knew I had to come and talk to you. I know this ministry is an awesome work for the Lord. I know it’s blessed, I know it’s anointed and I know it’s of God. It touched my heart even though I’m a born again Christian…You can’t just walk away from something like this. Now you may not touch everybody with your sign display, but you’re going to touch many that weren’t touched before…I’m going to tell my pastor about this. We do have an outreach ministry but nothing like this, but I guarantee you, you’ve planted a seed. When you leave we’re going to be out there!"
