PRAISES IN PALM BAY!

Look what God is doing, if we will just take him at His Word! This is a great report from Pastor Sam Green in Palm Bay, FL. Way to go saints in Palm Bay! Keep giving 'em heaven! " ...the work of God is this: to believe on the One He has sent." John 6:29

 PRAISES IN PALM BAY!

by Pastor Sam Green

Back in October, on Halloween, about 75 saints from Palm Bay and the surrounding area took to the streets and participated in Word in Warfare (reading the entire Bible out loud at the very gates of hell). They were peppered all over the county at various places such as the abortion mill, a building housing a homosexual website, a XXX video store, several strip clubs, high schools, the police department and city council chambers. Great reports flowed in from all over as the task was completed in about three hours. Praise the Lord! Jesus was exalted in Brevard County on the devil's highest unholy day of the year.

The saints were commended by a number of people who were blessed to witness such a visible display of faith. One lady in particular approached Pastor Sam and asked how they knew to come to the city offices. She declared, "You don't know how much you are needed here. There is such a spirit of adultery in the mayor's and city manager's offices." She never explained exactly what she meant by that statement, however, everyone rejoiced that the Lord led his saints to the places HE knew needed a witness!

Just one week later, an attack focused on Pastor Sam and Palm Bay Baptist Church ultimately resulted in about 100 of the saints leaving the church. Satan wasn't about to stand by passively as the visible, witnessing and praying church humbly went to the gates of hell with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Please keep Pastor Sam and Palm Bay Baptist Church lifted up in prayer during this difficult time.

Although there have been hardships to face, the saints that are left at Palm Bay Baptist are determined to stay focused on fulfilling the Great Commission. In early January, preparations were implemented to sponsor a Friend Day, Sunday, February 9, 2003. The saints labored for weeks in preparation of the special outreach and God blessed in a mighty way! When 10:00 a.m. rolled around the church was filled nearly to capacity by the congregation and over 50 guests in attendance. The choir was magnificent as they sang "Jesus Built This Church on Love." Bro. Gary, the music minister, sang "Who Am I" before Pastor Sam preached a sermon entitled "Who Endured the Cross" from Hebrews 12:2. The Holy Spirit moved in a powerful way.

When the invitation was offered at least eight precious souls claimed the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! But that isn't the end of the story! One of the guests attending the service was the Mayor of Palm Bay. Yes, the same mayor who was prayed for on the streets during Word in Warfare back in October. It would seem the Lord was completing a grand conclusion to the events that ensued since that day in October when everything was set in motion. On Sunday, February 9, 2003, the mayor was one of the precious souls who made a profession of faith! Hallelujah! He was later heard telling Pastor Sam, "The best thing in the whole world is the love of Jesus!"

Although the devil is relentless in his pursuit of faithful, dedicated Christians who are involved in advancing the Kingdom, God is faithful to bless the obedience of His children as they shine His light in this dark, evil world. No matter what the devil stirs up, Christians must always remember God will always be the period at the end of the sentence.

A Personal Note from Pastor Sam: As I attended the leadership conference in Concord, North Carolina with the National Leadership of OSA, I couldn't help but notice the prophetic words spoken by Ed Martin, in the same meeting a year earlier, were being fulfilled before our very eyes. Many of those who were in both meetings had, in fact, suffered in answer to God's call to be active in pro-life ministry. But saints, take heart and keep trusting in the God of your salvation! There are a couple of lessons in Scripture I would like to leave with you by way of encouragement. Lesson #1 comes from Galatians 6:9, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." While the second admonition comes from Ephesians 6:12-13, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand." (Emphasis added.) Friend, Jesus is the "stand"-ard! Keep on "stand"-ing in His mighty name!
